Dry times

It always hard when you don't feel like God is listening. You beg and beg, maybe cry a little and yet all you feel/hear is silence. You wonder when you'll feel His presence again. You wonder if you"ll ever feel his presence again, and in the mean time you constantly drift, farther and farther away from the God that created you and you wonder whether or not He notices. Well He does notice, in fact He more than notices. He longs for us to be with Him, perfectly in His presence. Unfortunately this won't happen completely until heaven, but what an awesome thought! Standing in the presence of God Almighty, no worries, no fears, nothing but a crowd of believers and the God we serve. (Luke 15: 3-7)

During hard times it's easy to think that God pays no attention to us, and it's easy to complain inwardly (maybe even outwardly) about how much it sucks, but the truth is that in those moments if we stop and honestly evaluate our situation and our frustration, you'll realize that He is there. That He never left. That He is waiting for you to come back. He is waiting for you to spend time with Him.

(Jeremiah 29:11)

How many Christ Followers (myself included) try to get by with 10 minutes in the word everyday (maybe even every other day!), I don't think it's enough. Not to say that God can't teach you something in only 10 minutes, but if we truly wish to seek Him than why not give Him more time. He can't wait to spend time with us. He eagerly waits for the time we decide to give Him. Why do I schedule my "quiet time" around the rest of my life when He is the most important relationship in my life. It's time I readjusted my schedule and my priorities.
